Welcome to the CMPW PAN

The Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials emerged on January 1st 2007 as a result of the union between two institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences: the Center of Polymer Chemistry in Zabrze and the Institute of Coal Chemistry in Gliwice. As being the biggest scientific research institute at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Silesia, it brings together both polymer science and carbon chemistry specialists. The Centre is a renowned scientific institute carrying out research financed by European Union Structural Funds, Framework Programs and international programs like EUREKA E! and COST. The areas of research are interdisciplinary and connected with novel polymer materials, polymer – carbon composites and catalysts to be used in biotechnology, microtechnology, protection of the environment and health care.
