The International Workshop on Polymer Science and Polymeric Materials, 2017

The International Workshop on Polymer Science and Polymeric Materials was held on November 10, 2017 at Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials, Polish Academy of Sciences in Zabrze.
The aim of this meeting was to exchange experience between the cooperating Institutes from Poland, Hungary and Slovak Republic and to discuss current research on the characterization, modification and application of biocompatible polymers. This initiative help to develop the closer cooperation among Institutions and improve the competitiveness in the attracting international projects.

This Workshop was supported by Polish-Slovak joint research project for years 2016-2018 “Advanced MD-LC-MS for characterization of bio-polymers and their degradation products”, Polish-Hungarian joint research project for years 2017-2019 “Controlled release and degradation studies of biodegradable aliphatic polyester derivatives based nanoparticles loaded with organic drug” and the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic for the support of mobility of students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers and artists.

In short

The Center belongs to category A of scientific facilities in Poland. It was established on January 1, 2007 as a result of a merger of the Center of Polymer Chemistry of PAN in Zabrze and the Institute of Carbochemistry of PAN in Gliwice – two centers of the Polish Academy of Sciences which, for many years, had been conducting systematic work on the production and properties of macromolecular polymer and carbon materials.
