During the Forum, the research and scientific units and enterprises presented their company profiles, research service and innovative product portfolio.
The meeting was attended by over 50 people representing business, science and company from business environment.
It was the first meeting of the Regional Specialist Nanotechnology and Nanomaterial Observatory. The Observatory was initiated by: the University of Silesia in Katowice, the Foundation of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Support NANONET, the Non-Ferrous Metal Institute in Gliwice, the Center of Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Zabrze, and the Silesian Province Marshal’s Office.

On 15 April 2015, in the Goldstein Villa in Katowice there was organized the “Business – Science Forum. NANO Observatory as the path towards innovations”, in which CMPW PAN participated.
The forum was aimed at initiating and developing the cooperation between the research and scientific units and entrepreneurs, in the fields of nanotechnology and nanomaterials, and at promoting the knowledge on the technological potential of the province in that regard.

In short
The Center belongs to category A of scientific facilities in Poland. It was established on January 1, 2007 as a result of a merger of the Center of Polymer Chemistry of PAN in Zabrze and the Institute of Carbochemistry of PAN in Gliwice – two centers of the Polish Academy of Sciences which, for many years, had been conducting systematic work on the production and properties of macromolecular polymer and carbon materials.
