In the subsequent demonstration part, conducted by W. Wałach, A. Utrata-Wesołek, Natalia Oleszko-Torbus, M. Bochenek and D. Lipowska-Kur the following topics were discussed:
1. pressure and properties of gases - a state of matter strongly dependent on pressure (demonstrations with commentary)
2. metals and non-metals - characteristics, states of matter and basic reactions of elements and their oxides (demonstrations with commentary)
3. phase transitions - transitions between solid, liquid and gaseous states and the application of phase transitions to the separation of substances (demonstrations with commentary)
4. interesting experiments (demonstrations with commentary)
- chemical gardens
- magic baguettes
- chemical lights
- physical heater
Some of the experiments were carried out by students assisted by Centre staff.
The visit to the CMPW PAN allowed the students to see the research laboratories, become acquainted with scientific and research work and see or perform experiments related to phenomena discussed in chemistry and physics lessons.
